Home prices in Central New York continued to rise in January while sales slid.
The Greater Syracuse Association of Realtors says the median homes sales price was $250,000 last month, up nearly 10% compared to January of 2025.
Meanwhile, closed home sales dipped just over 7% year over year. The association attributes the downtick to buyers choosing to stay home because of the harsh winter weather.
But those willing to brave the elements had plenty to choose from. Nearly 1,200 homes were on the market in late January, nearly 29% more than the same month in 2025. Realtors expect sales activity will improve along with the weather.
