Roads near the Syracuse University campus are set to be repaved during the spring and summer months.

The City of Syracuse has an ambitious plan to repair roads in nearly every quadrant of the city.

Drivers in every part of Syracuse will see numerous roads under repair this spring and summer. Mayor Sharon Owens released an extensive list of around 20 miles of streets that need to be repaved.

“Investing in our streets is investing in our neighborhoods," Owens said in a press release. "As we move into the construction season, our focus remains on delivering safe, reliable infrastructure while keeping residents informed every step of the way.”

Among the major routes are: Brighton Avenue from Thurber to Seneca Turnpike; Midland Ave between Ostrander and Seneca Turnpike; and a stretch of East Colvin Street, east of Comstock.

Other projects that are through the Dig Once approach with the city's Department of Engineering will continue as planned.

The city plans to work with the Syracuse Metropolitan Transportation Council to coordinate with sewer and other utility needs, so newly paved roads don’t have to be dug up later.

A full list of the streets slated for repair is listed below.
