Drivers can expect lane closures as a result of the project.

Drivers using a six-mile section of the Thruway in Madison and Onondaga Counties may encounter delays now into the fall due to construction.

Drivers can expect lane closures between exit 34-A at I-481 and exit 34 at Route 13. Crews are removing multiple layers of pavement down to the 1950s-era original concrete base and replacing it to restore the highway’s structural integrity and improve long-term durability.

The $13.3 million project is one of four on the Thruway system in Albany, Ulster, and Ontario counties.
