The Winter Olympics in Italy contributed to a record 1.2 million visits to New York’s own Olympic Authority venues in Lake Placid during the 2025-26 season.

Skier visits surged nine percent over the prior season to an all-time high with record-setting visits at Whiteface Mountain, Gore Mountain, and Belleayre mountain.

State officials say favorable conditions, expanded snowmaking, and numerous national and international events drove up the numbers. The two-time Olympic venues also serve as a critical hub for athlete training and competition.

Conference Center events, custom groups, non-ticket events, and functions are not included in the totals, meaning the overall impact is even greater.
