Officials say they’ve foiled a plot to bomb the State Capitol building in Albany. Federal prosecutors charged 35-year-old Jessica Bowie in connection with the attempted attack.
Court papers say Bowie pledged support to ISIS and talked with informants about her plans.
Gov. Kathy Hochul wasn’t at the Capitol this week. She says that she’s increased security this year because of a general uptick in political violence. She calls the building the center of the government.
Also, President Trump was on Long Island recently for an event with Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, the Republican candidate for governor.
And he gave quite an endorsement while sharply criticizing Hochul, with whom he’s had a cordial relationship.
The New York Public News Network’s Jimmy Vielkind and Samuel King discuss those developments at the Capitol.
