Sheriff Toby Shelley has won reelection in Onondaga County, Syracuse.com projects.
Shelley, a Democrat, defeated Republican challenger RJ Lenhart.
Just weeks before, on October 21, Shelley received a vote of no confidence from 93 percent of the Onondaga County Deputy Sheriff’s Benevolent Association. Seventy percent of the union’s 210 members voted in that election.
Shelley claimed that the vote of no confidence was political.
