Liverpool man with gun prompts response from county SWAT team

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office activated its SWAT Team over the weekend after a Liverpool man fired a gun in his yard and one of the rounds struck his own house on Oswego Road, according to a news release.

Deputies first attempted to contact the resident and he refused to speak with them or leave his home.

Law enforcement activated the county’s 911 reverse call system to notify residents. The SWAT unit later gained entry to the home after a judge issued a warrant and swiftly apprehended the man, 45-year-old Luigi Croce.

Croce is facing several charges. including first-degree reckless endangerment, criminal possession of weapons and firearms and criminal mischief.
