Syracuse to begin construction on $4M history museum this fall

Construction is expected to start this fall on a four-million-dollar history museum in downtown Syracuse. The Onondaga Historical Association says that’s thanks to a three-million-dollar state grant secured by Assembly member Bill Magnarelli, whose district includes downtown.

The budget for the future, five-story OHA museum comprises state and private funding. The group tells WAER the new grant comes from the New York State Dormitory Authority.

Natasha Senjanovic teaches radio broadcasting at the Newhouse School while overseeing student journalists at WAER and creating original reporting for the station. She can also be heard hosting All Things Considered some weekday afternoons.
