Syracuse sees 5,100 private sector jobs added in July

Syracuse added 5,100 private sector jobs in July compared to the same month last year, according to the New York Department of Labor. This represents a 2% increase, among the strongest growth rates in Upstate New York.

Statewide, nearly 11,000 private sector jobs were added in July, with the largest gains in the private education and health services category. However, New York's unemployment rate saw a slight uptick from 4.2% to 4.3% over the past month.
