Drivers in the Syracuse area should be prepared for delays due to ongoing road construction on both Interstate 81 and State Route 11.

On I-81, southbound traffic is reduced to one lane between the Mattydale Exit and the onramp in the Town of Salina. The lane closures are in effect Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for bridge construction.

Meanwhile, on State Route 11 in the Town of Cicero, road crews are paving between County Route 37 and Jerome Street. Work will continue through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Department of Transportation reminds drivers to exercise caution in work areas where fines for speeding and other infractions are doubled.
