New York will have several new laws protecting workers’ rights in New York state.

Governor Kathy Hochul recently signed bills such as, the Retail Worker Safety Act requiring large retail employers to install panic buttons for emergencies and providing workplace violence prevention training.

Another law ensures that car dealerships will be reimbursed fairly for warranty repairs by manufacturers.

Public project contractors will also be mandated to submit payrolls to a public database for transparency.

Civil service exams will be available sooner, and public employees will receive feedback about their job performance. More information is available on the governor's website.
