New York is receiving 21 million dollars to install electric vehicle chargers along major roadways in the state.

Funding comes from the federal National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure grant – established to improve consumer access to electric vehicle charging.

The initial round of financing focuses on key upstate travel corridors north of I-84 to the Canadian border and west to Buffalo.

Areas that are interested in receiving funding must submit a proposal by December 4. A webinar on how to apply will be September 19th.

Information is available on the State Energy Resource Department website.
