New Yorkers reminded to register to vote before October 26 deadline

The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) reminds residents that October 26 is the deadline to register to vote in this year’s general election on November 5.

New Yorkers can apply to register in person at a DMV office, by mail, or online. In-person registration at the DMV must be completed by October 25, and online applications can be submitted until 11:59 p.m. that day.

Applications by mail must be received by October 26. The DMV also provides voter registration services when applying for a license or ID. Find out if you’re already registered at elections.ny.gov.
