Upstate University Hospital monitors IV solution supply amid nationwide shortage

An IV drip hangs in a medical facility

Upstate University Hospital says it’s monitoring its daily usage of IV solutions after hurricane damage has affected the supply chain nationwide.

Upstate is considering alternative products and the Hospital Association of New York says it’s working with hospitals to mitigate any long-term impact from the shortage.

Federal officials say they are working to airlift additional fluids from overseas manufacturing plants.
