More than 20,000 voters in Onondaga County have chosen to cast their ballots by mail, either through early voting or absentee.

The board of elections says as of October 14, over 26,700 voters have sent in applications, and the board has issued all but about 200 ballots.

Nearly 6,800 ballots have been returned by voters. The board of elections says they continue to receive a large number of requests and are sending them out periodically to voters.

The deadline to request your ballot is October 26, the first day of early voting. More information is at onvote-dot-net.
