The unemployment rate has dropped. The New York Department of Labor says in September the Syracuse metro area dropped by almost a full percentage to stand at 3.1% compared to August.
Onondaga County also sits at 3.1% – approximately a half percent lower than a year ago. Rochester is also at 3.1% with Binghamton, Buffalo, and Utica-Rome sitting around 3.3%.
New York's overall unemployment rate is 4.4%.
