Optometrists and geoscientists lead pay hikes in Syracuse area

Optometrists, geoscientists and those selling technical and science products all were big winners when it came to pay hikes between 2022 and 2023.

The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics says Optometrists in the Syracuse metro area saw their pay increase by 66% to a median paycheck of roughly $215,000.

Geoscientists saw their pay upped by roughly 59%, and the sales reps bumped up 49%. Increases over 20% were seen by 23 jobs in the area.
