The SKI-New-York-Free-for-Kids-Passport-Program is offering free lift tickets for students in grades three through five.

New York State's ski season has officially begun, with Olympic Authority resorts Gore, Whiteface, and Belleayre now open daily for the 2024-25 winter season. These resorts are the cornerstone of the state’s 52 ski areas, which generate $1.32 billion in economic output and support over 13,000 jobs.

The state has invested in off-season upgrades, including snowmaking systems, new lifts, and lodge renovations, ensuring consistent conditions and extended operations. Adaptive and beginner programs cater to skiers of all abilities, while initiatives like the SKI NY Free for Kids Passport and College Club Program offer discounted or free lift tickets for students.

Governor Kathy Hochul highlighted the importance of the ski industry, stating it boosts tourism, creates jobs, and enhances residents' quality of life.
