Lane closures on Southbound I-81 near Syracuse Airport

Bumper to bumper traffic I-81South near the airport due to construction with the roadway reduced to one lane.

Southbound I-81 drivers near the Syracuse airport are packing their patience this holiday season as construction causes delays.

Crews reduced the highway to one lane between the airport exit and the service road on-ramp to I-81 south.

The closure, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., allows for the removal of scaffolding under the airport boulevard bridge. For updates on traffic impacts, visit 511ny.org.
