New York lawmakers missed the April 1st budget deadline again this year. Republican Senator Joe Griffo of Rome says it’s a sign of dysfunction within the Democratic majority.
Griffo criticized a lack of transparency in the process, citing out-of-control spending and rushed policies. He noted that while residents and local governments meet deadlines daily, state leaders continue to fall short.
Lawmakers voted to extend budget negotiations through Thursday.
