Lane reductions on I-81 near Salina start for bridge painting

Construction cones in a line
Drivers should expect delays near the Syracuse Airport exit as I-81 will be reduced to one lane in both directions through May 2.

Drivers traveling on Interstate 81 near Salina should prepare for lane closures next week as crews begin painting the Syracuse Airport Bridge.

I-81 northbound will be reduced to a single lane between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the area near the exit for the Syracuse Airport and North Syracuse. Southbound traffic will also be limited to one lane between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. near the exits for Mattydale and the Syracuse Airport.

The project is expected to be completed by May 2. Motorists are advised to plan for delays and use caution in the work zone
