New York has a new Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner. Amanda Lefton was confirmed by the State Senate after serving as Interim Commissioner.
She was formerly the Director of the federal Bureau of Energy Ocean Management and was the Assistant Secretary for Energy and Environment for New York, where she led the State’s environmental and climate initiatives.
The Senate also confirmed Willow Baer as the Commissioner of the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities and Denise Miranda as Commissioner of the Division of Human Rights.
