Business activity declines in New York, but employment rises

The survey reports drops in general business conditions, new orders, shipments, and supply availability.

Business activity continues to decline in New York. The June Empire State Manufacturing Survey says general business conditions dropped with new orders, shipments and supply availability all down.

Manufacturing declined for the fourth straight month, but employment was up for the first time since January.

Although those surveyed predict that conditions will improve over the next six months.
