SU replaces Diversity and Inclusion Office heading into new fall semester

Sky view of Syracuse University

As Syracuse University headed into the fall semester under the Trump Administration’s new federal policies, it announced plans to reconfigure its Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

Chancellor Kent Syverud said the university still plans to advance its commitment as a welcoming educational institution for everyone. To do that, he said the university is replacing the Diversity and Inclusion Office with a newly formed People and Culture unit to support faculty and staff.

SU’s Student Experience Division and Intercultural Collective will foster a sense of community and meaningful engagement among students of different backgrounds.
