New York State Fair launches alert system for safety updates

In an effort to keep people safe, the New York State Fair launched a fairgrounds alert system. It provides real-time updates on weather, security and other important information during the fair.

People can sign up by texting NYSF to 888777. The fair begins Wednesday, August 20 and runs through Labor Day.
