Wine Enthusiast magazine named the Finger Lakes region the 2025 American Wine Region of the Year. The magazine notes the region’s winemakers have a respect for tradition along with a commitment to sustainability and community. It adds the region consistently produces wines that rank among the world’s best.

There are more than 140 wineries in the Finger Lakes, the largest and most established wine-producing region in New York. The region also won this award in 2014.
