Central New York Senator Chris Ryan awarded $40,000 to helping area pets.
The funding for the Central New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will assist the organization's general operations.
Ryan called the organization an incredible community partner for over a century, providing compassionate care for vulnerable animals while connecting families with loving pets.
The money comes from the Legislative Initiative Funding Program which allows legislators to award funding for non-profits, municipalities, and other organizations.
