Made possible by you
Last year, you loyally followed along as WAER Syracuse Public Media, and other media organizations funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), lost federal funding.
Not only did you follow the news, you acted on it. Because of you, WAER continues to bring the community together through trusted news, fan-favorite sports coverage, new and classic music,
innovative podcasts, and so much more.
Your support has helped launch events like our first-ever Folk Festival, inspired over 300 listeners to become new members, and encouraged returning members to increase their gifts.
Since losing funding, WAER has been able to connect with 28 new business sponsors, stepping up to help bridge the federal funding gap, reaching our fiercely loyal audience, and strengthening connections.
Although we’ve celebrated milestones, we still have a long way to go. WAER has stayed committed to being a trusted source for Central New York. We’re asking that you stay committed, too – committed to accessibility, fresh perspectives, smart conversations, and independent voices. Join the WAER family in bridging the gap and help keep our signal strong.
Thank you for your unwavering support through all of our achievements and more importantly, through all of our setbacks. WAER would not be the same without our Central New York community.
– Joe Lee, WAER Interim General Manager
