Major League Baseball is gearing up for the start of the 2020 season in just a few weeks. With that, though, came the cancellation of the minor league season due to COVID-19.

As WAER Sports Director Corey Spector reports, the Syracuse Mets will suffer from the lost campaign, but are set to rebound in 2021.

It seems like just a memory... the Syracuse Mets in action in 2019!

Thanks to the Syracuse Mets and former WAER 2017 Alum Michael Tricarico for sound used in that piece.  The big-league Mets still have 10 roster spots to fill on their 60 man player pool.  There’s still no indication on whether fan favorite Tim Tebow will make the cut, as the New York Mets are slated to begin their abridged 60 game season later this month.

Yeah, that's really former WAER Sports Director and 2017 Alum Michael Tricarico having some on-air banter with Actor/Director Jason Alexander in 2019.

John Smith has been waking up WAER listeners for a long time as our Local Co-Host of Morning Edition with timely news and information, working alongside student Sportscasters from the Newhouse School.
