Minor League Cancellation means Loss of Revenue for Syracuse Mets and Millions for the Local Economy

Major League Baseball is gearing up for the start of the 2020 season in just a few weeks. With that, though, came the cancellation of the minor league season due to COVID-19.

As WAER Sports Director Corey Spector reports, the Syracuse Mets will suffer from the lost campaign, but are set to rebound in 2021.

Thanks to the Syracuse Mets and former WAER 2017 Alum Michael Tricarico for sound used in that piece.  The big-league Mets still have 10 roster spots to fill on their 60 man player pool.  There’s still no indication on whether fan favorite Tim Tebow will make the cut, as the New York Mets are slated to begin their abridged 60 game season later this month.
