Syracuse Common Council Will Be Made Up Entirely Of Democrats

Syracuse's Common Council will be made up entirely of Democrats.

Joe Carni, formerly the only republican on the city's Common Council, did not run in District 1 this year.Unofficial results show democrat Jennifer Schulz defeating republican Josh Davis to now represent District 1.

Council President Helen Hudson defeated her republican challenger Woodruff Carroll. Both Councilor-At-Large seats will go to democrats Amir Gethers and Rasheada Caldwell. They defeated republicans Randy Potter and Norm Snyder, and the Working Families Party's Kayla Johnson.

Pat Hogan defeated Community Unity Party candidate Jose Marrero in District 2.

Three councilors ran unopposed. 3rd District Councilor Chol Majok, 4th District Councilor Latoya Allen, and 5th District Councilor Joe Driscoll.
