Still no decision from judge on New York's 50th Senate District race

Sen. Mannion's 50th district doesn't change in number, but does cover different territory, heading north and east of Syracuse. He lives in Geddes.

The 50th senate district covers parts of Onondaga and Oswego counties.

Friday came and went without an expected ruling from a judge on ballots that could determine the winner of the close 50th senate district race. There are about 100 objected ballots that could tip the race in either direction.

After a hearing Wednesday, incumbent democrat John Mannion had at most a 17 vote lead. That's down from about 50 following a hand count of 132,000 ballots that was completed last week by boards of elections in Oswego and Onondaga Counties.

The judge has not given lawyers for the campaigns or elections officials a timetable for a decision. All eyes will now look toward Monday at the earliest.
