Pleasant weather conditions boosted attendance at the New York State Fair Thursday, and that’s likely to continue through Saturday.

Cool temperatures and rain dampened turn-out opening day, with only 32,736 people passing through gates. Traffic jumped to more than 58,000 Thursday, besting last year’s total by about 4,700.

Rain is in the forecast for Sunday and Monday, but dry periods and comfortable temperatures are predicted for most of next week.
