A parks advocacy group is seeking public input as they kick off a study of the 750-mile Empire State Trail. Parks and Trails New York said the study aims to quantify the trail’s wide-ranging economic contributions, from tourism spending and real estate values to business recruitment and health benefits.
The data gathered will also determine if all of those benefits are spread equitably across the corridor. Parks and Trails said the results will serve as a tool for advocates, elected officials, and other stakeholders to determine future infrastructure investments and programming.
