Onondaga County Sheriff's Department has arrested 56-year-old Lansing Dimon on sexual assault charges.

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office has charged a 54-year-old Syracuse teacher, Lansing Dimon with rape. According to Syracuse police, Dimon was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of rape in the third degree and endangering the welfare of a child.

Authorities say that in July, a 16-year-old boy told police he had sexual contact with Dimon earlier this year. Investigators have confirmed that Dimon was employed as a teacher with the Syracuse City School District. The victim is not currently a student within the district.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Syracuse Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222.
