Republican Julie Abbott, left, faces Democrat Gregg Eriksen in the race for the legislature's 6th district.

Democrat Gregory Eriksen flipped Onondaga County Legislature's 6th district seat, winning over incumbent Republican Julie Abbott, according to the county Board of Elections.

Erikson captured about 52% of the vote in the district, while Julie Abbott trailed closely behind with 48%.

This was the closest call of all Legislature races happening tonight, with a difference of just 325 votes.

Eriksen is a lawyer from Orange County who attended law school at Syracuse University. He previously held a position on the village board in Skaneateles.

Abbott has been the incumbent since 2019. She was originally appointed to the position to fill a vacancy and has since served three terms.

The 6th district includes Skaneateles, Marcellus, Spafford and parts of Camillus.
