Syracuse-area home sales jumped 9 percent in October compared to the same month last year. New data from the Greater Syracuse Association of Realtors also shows the median selling price shot up 13 percent over the same period to $260,000.

Realtors say the moderation of mortgages is drawing more buyers and sellers into the housing market. The Association is optimistic that this fall’s strong sales will continue into early next year.
