Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has confirmed three of his statewide offices received bomb threats via email over the weekend.
He made the announcement on the Senate floor Monday explaining that law enforcement officers in Long Island, Binghamton, and Rochester informed him that all three offices received a threat with the same message.
“The bomb threats against my offices came with the email subject line ‘MAGA’," he told the room, "and, from an email address alleging 'the 2020 election was rigged'.”
While U.S. Capitol Police, Binghamton, Rochester, and Long Island police will not comment on the investigation, Schumer has stated that federal and local enforcement were swift in conducting thorough security sweeps of his offices and that staff at all three locations are safe.
