Attorney General Letitia James is urging DoorDash workers who worked between 2017 and 2019 to file a claim before the end of the year if they want to cash in on a settlement.
Earlier this year Attorney General James finalized a settlement with DoorDash after her office investigated the system implemented for Dasher’s to receive tips. It was revealed that the company was subsidizing tips instead of all of it going directly to the employee.
Delivery workers or Dasher’s, who worked between 2017 to 2019, are eligible to file a claim before the end of the year.
In a press release, Attorney General James emphasized the importance of paying delivery workers their rightful salaries.
“My office will keep fighting to ensure every worker in New York is treated with dignity and respect,” Attorney James said in the release.
63,000 people are eligible to receive money from the settlement, but only 30,000 have submitted claims so far.
Those looking to file a claim can do so at nydoordashsettelement.com until Dec. 31.
