Poor visibility due to Thursday’s snowstorm and slick roads is likely to blame for a 37 vehicle pile-up, including 3 tractor trailers, Thursday afternoon on I-81 South in LaFayette. State Police say initially 18 vehicles crashed and then a series of smaller vehicle crashes occurred. Some of those injured suffered broken bones. Eight people were taken to local hospitals; however, none of the injuries appeared to be life threatening. I-81 in LaFayette reopened Thursday night. The investigation continues.
