The State Fair reported its tally on the most popular agriculture drinks and eats in 2026. The milk bartenders served nearly 280,000 25 cent glasses of milk to fairgoers, who selected chocolate 78% of the time. That added up to about 180 gallons poured at the milk bar every hour. Fairgoers ordered nearly 51,000 baked potatoes topped off most of the time with sour cream and butter for a dollar. On the sweeter side of the fair aisles, visitors bought nearly 21,000 gallons of maple syrup.

“For 185 years, The Great New York State Fair has served as a celebration of agriculture and community,” said NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets commissioner Richard A. Ball. “This year, that rich history came to life once again, giving fairgoers an opportunity to immerse themselves in and learn about the very best of New York State agriculture while celebrating our diverse communities in a welcoming, inclusive, and family-friendly environment.”

The fair counted a record 962,795 visitors who walked through its turnstiles. It was the highest overall and single-day attendance since 2019.
