Public safety leaders, first responders, and elected officials were among those who gathered Monday to dedicate a permanent memorial named after a fallen Syracuse Police officer. The Michael Jensen Wall of Heroes is inside the Michael Hoosock Emergency Management Center in Liverpool. Both men were killed in the line of duty in 2024.

Town of Geddes Police Chief John Fall chairs the Jensen Wall of Heroes Committee. He said the memorial is dedicated to preserving the stories of generations of men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

“It is about ensuring that when people stand in front of this wall years from now, they understand that behind every name is a life devoted to something greater than themselves," he said. "As visitors look upon this wall, I hope they see more than plaques and photographs. I hope they see Michael's example.”

Fall said Jensen was someone who pursued excellence, cherished family and friends, and served his community with integrity, compassion, and courage. The emergency management center on Electronics Parkway was named in honor of Onondaga County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Michael Hoosock in November 2025.
