Cody Kelly

Cody Kelly, 35, is from Clay and holds a doctorate in physical therapy from SUNY Upstate Medical University. He worked as a pediatric physical therapist in Onondaga County before being appointed to the County Legislature in 2021 and has been re-elected since. He previously chaired the Health and Human Services Committee and was vice chair of the Environmental Protection Committee. He introduced legislation that increased preschool special education funding. He seeks grant funding to address poverty, food insecurity, school attendance, substance abuse and housing. He wants to keep property taxes low, backs workforce development and increased road funding, and promoted a cap on the county gasoline sales tax. He also proposed term limits for the county executive and comptroller.
