Inducted in 2021Nick Wright is a prominent sports broadcaster and television personality, best known as host of First Things First, FS1’s weekday morning show. Since its 2017 launch, Wright has been a centerpiece of the program, offering sharp analysis and passionate commentary on the biggest stories in sports. In October 2024, he signed a long-term contract extension with FS1, solidifying his place as one of the network’s leading voices.
Beyond television, Wright expands his reach through his podcast, What’s Wright? With Nick Wright, co-hosted with his son, Damonza Byrd. Originally launched under Fox Sports in 2022, the podcast joined Colin Cowherd’s The Volume network in early 2025, further growing his influence in the sports media landscape.
Wright’s broadcasting career began in radio, with stops in Syracuse, Kansas City, and Houston. Known for his candid takes on both sports and social issues - including matters of race and activism - Wright has built a reputation for insight and authenticity.
A graduate of Syracuse University’s Newhouse School, Wright got his early on-air experience at WAER.
