Sagar Meghani '96

Sagar Meghani is a seasoned journalist and Washington correspondent for the Associated Press, focusing on national security and defense issues. He has reported on major events including the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, Pentagon operations around global conflicts, and key political developments in the nation’s capital.

His work has appeared across prominent media outlets such as Fox News, MSN UK, The Washington Post, and PBS NewsHour. Meghani has also played a central role in AP’s coverage of high-profile political events, including the 2024 U.S. presidential election and the passing of former President Jimmy Carter.

A graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School, Meghani began his journalism career as a student at WAER, where he learned the broadcast basics.
