Tony Caridi is a veteran broadcaster best known as the “Voice of the Mountaineers,” a role he has held since 1996 while calling many of West Virginia University’s most memorable victories. He began his career in Morgantown in 1984 at WAJR-AM, later becoming sports director at MetroNews and launching the long-running Statewide Sportsline. Caridi has also worked nationally for ESPN and Westwood One, co-founded the Emmy Award–winning WVRC Video, and authored a children’s book.

A graduate of Syracuse University’s Newhouse School, he got his start at WAER.
