The 315 | Gary Shteyngart on His New Novel, Writing Satire and Finding Humor in Modern Life
On this episode, Joe Lee sits down with best-selling author and satirist Gary Shteyngart during his visit to Syracuse. They discuss his latest novel, 'Vera or Faith,' a story about a 10-year-old girl navigating a fractured America shaped by political division, technology, surveillance and a growing threat to democracy.
Shteyngart also talks about his immigrant background, the real-life experiences that shape his writing, what happens when the future imagined in science fiction starts becoming the present, and the importance of friendship.
