Schumer Challenger Wendy Long Rallies NY Delegation at GOP Convention

wendylong.com

Manhattan attorney Wendy Long was in the spotlight at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland

Tuesday, at least among her New York peers.  She pitched her U.S. Senate campaign to party leaders and donors in hopes of gathering much-needed momentum against entrenched Democratic incumbent Chuck Schumer.  A recent poll by Quinnipiac University showed Schumer far ahead 60 to 28 percent.   Long faces an uphill battle in campaign cash, as well.  Lohud.com reports she has just over $46,000 in the bank, while Schumer has amassed more than $27 million.  If her name seems familiar, Long tried to unseat Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand in 2012, but lost in a landslide.
