Two local hair stylists came together Monday to give free haircuts to the homeless and donate winter necessities to the Syracuse community. With the help from local businesses and Syracuse residents, Ashley Rewakoski and Dani Tanner collected many items for those who need them most this winter.

Whatever people need. Whether it be haircuts, toiletries or clothing. We’ve got it,”  Rewakoski said.

Syracuse resident Daphne Camacho stopped by to pick up jackets, hats, and gloves for her neighbor who has three kids, including a 1-year-old baby. Camacho says this year has been difficult for so many people. She says the generosity at today’s event is appreciated during these tough times.

It would be beautiful if everyone came together. Stop the violence and stop everything going on and look at this. How lovely you people are, doing this for us.

Tanner says everyone needs a little kindness right now.

Just to feel good about themselves. We are out here trying to do what little we can.”

Several downtown clothing shops and restaurants contributed to the cause by providing warm weather gear and food.  Non-profit human service agencies helped
