Syracuse Speaks: Getting Back Out There- 2021 Summer in CNY

Tarryn Mento/WAER News

George Gershwin wrote the words ‘summertime and livin’ is easy”. Unfortunately, last summer wasn’t like that for much of Central New York, but this year looks to be off to a promising start. On this edition of Syracuse Speaks Katie Zilcosky and Tarryn Mento will look at the array of summer option for local residents as COVID restrictions continue to be lifted.

First, we’ll hear about some family activities that will be available this summer that were either significantly reduced or completely put on pause last year. Whether it’s taking a swim at public pools or attending a Syracuse Mets game, you’ll hear how things are different this summer.

Also, we’ll hear how business are gearing up for the potential of larger crowds and with that an increased demand for their services. And finally, we’ll hear how the Family Health Picnics series has made adjustment to offer more than just music to the community this summer.
