SU Welcomes Clemson To Dome

CitrusTV Sports, 2013

This weekend marks the first ACC game for SU football as the Orange welcomes #3 Clemson to the Carrier Dome this Saturday. Syracuse comes into the game carrying a two game win streak and coming off its bye week. Meanwhile, the Tigers come into the game undefeated and most recently torching Wake Forest 56-7.

But even though Head Coach Scott Shafer knows Clemson has the higher rated team, he believes Syracuse has what it takes to pull the upset if the fan base rallies behind the team,.

“You know they are faster than us, they have more five stars, they have a Heisman trophy quarterback, they are a hell of a football team. I know all those things...lets try and get a 12th man out here, lets get our kids to play as hard as they can.” Shafer said.

Syracuse has been known to pull off upsets in the loudhouse. In the last two seasons, the Orange upset undefeated and 9th ranked Louisville and 11th ranked West Virginia.

In the two wins, SU outscored Wagner and Tulane 106-17 and new starting quarterback Terrel Hunt has been a big reason why. The sophomore has 7 touchdowns and no interceptions in the air and has thrown for 468 yards.

Will Hunt and the Orange have what it takes to pull of the upset?
